HMC Summer Tour 2023

If you’re an experienced trainer we know you understand that humans are complex. Exercise by itself is not enough.  Like our tagline says – It’s much more than movement.  Having a great diet also isn’t enough.  If you’re highly stressed, not sleeping well, and have gastric reflux – HIIT with a keto-diet  won’t be the best way to start your client on a journey to health.

The Holistic Movement Coach Programme teaches movement coaches to work with the entire human.  This workshop will expose you the wide range of tools you can use to make your clients healthier and move better.

Workshop Description

10:00 -10.15 Introductions

10.15 -11.05: Session 1 – Erectorcise

Covid left many trainers feeling stuck for movement ideas when training their clients online. We show you how you can move from a seated posture to a standing posture (Erectorcise) to create a range of simple movement challenge sequences that can be done in any environment.  Use these Erectorcise sequences to expand your body weight movement library AND your client’s physical resilience.  Learn simple routines that you can incorporate into your training sessions with a range of PROgressions to suit all client ability levels.

11.15 – 12.05: Session 2 – Key Habits of Successful Trainers

We’ve mentored and interviewed literally hundreds of trainers to discover key habits of successful trainers.  Since most of our everyday behaviour is based on habits (some say up to 90%!), it makes perfect sense that your habits determine your future.  Check in on your personal habits and learn key habits to optimise your health, wealth, and happiness.  We’ll also take you through the steps on how to make great habits that last.  If you’re looking to create successful habits for yourself or your clients – this session is a must!

12.05-12.45 Lunch

12.45-1.45: Session 3 – Mobility vs Stability

Do you train clients that are tight and restricted or hypermobile?  Do you use stretching and mobility programmes to increase your client’s flexibility? At HMC we would argue that mobility and stability are best mates that must work together when you move. Mobility without stability is an accident waiting to happen around the next corner, while stability without adequate mobility leaves you lost with few safe movement options.  This session will show you key exercises that we use while we explore the joint-by-joint approach to mobility and stability.  Come away with key mobility/stability drills that are the perfect fit for your clients.

1.55-3.30: Session 4 – HMC Holistic Case Studies

In this session we’ll take you through some of our favourite clients – how we assessed them, what we did to help them, and the outcomes.  This session gives you an insight into what we do with complex clients and will show you a range of exercises and techniques that you can apply in your work
