Description
Artificial light is high in blue light. Blue light disrupts your sleep and melatonin (sleep hormone) production leading to poor sleep patterns, recovery, and energy levels.
If you’re not sleeping well reducing your exposure to blue light can be a game-changer!
This article talks about why it’s important to block blue light
If you’re more the listening type – this podcast talks about sleep, light and your health
Blue light may also damage the retina. Over time this could lead to serious problems in eye health.
Our Blue Light Blocking Glasses (BLBGs) have certification standards and are custom designed and laboratory tested:
- AS/NZS 1067:2003 – Australia/New Zealand
- EN ISO 12312-1:2013(A1:2015) – European tested
- ANSI Z80.3: 2015 – US testing standards
- Our glasses have UV400 lenses
- Our lenses block violet and blue light to 97% at 500 nm.
Version 3.0 is a wide frame size so these glasses are able to fit over prescription glasses more easily
These glasses were designed by Dave Liow in conjunction with a leading optometry laboratory after he got peeved off after testing poor quality, bogus, downright disappointing blue light glasses offered in today’s marketplace. Most blue light blocking glasses retailers and manufacturers had no idea what light frequencies they were blocking or couldn’t/wouldn’t provide testing data on request.
When you compare other brands please see/ask if they have passed the same standards and testing as our glasses
Here’s our lab test data below showing the blue light blocking capabilities of our glasses.
Note: that these glasses are not to be used when driving – your red and green lights don’t look the same and your depth perception is altered!
